Every year in France, just over 600 babies are born without knowing their biological parents. This is known as birth in secret or birth under X. This particularity of French law allows the mother to give birth anonymously and then entrust the child to the State. The mother has two months to reconsider her decision, or not.
Exceptionally, the Seine et Marne adoption service has authorized our teams to follow a baby born under X from the maternity hospital through to adoption.
